2016 Historic Firsts
The first Kennel Club Show for the Kennel Club registered Jack Russell Terrier breed was held on April 2nd 2016
The Catalogue Entry was 51 (21 males and 30 females) with 43 present on the day of judging for Breed Judge Mrs Liz Cartledge to go over
The ringside was buzzing with anticipation and excitement. There was a strong presence from overseas exhibitors making the show even more global
The Jack Russell Terrier Club provided ring clips to every exhibitor marking this special occasion

At the Ladies Kennel Association Show on December 11th 2016 Hunter Hawk Hope For Twinan was awarded 4th in the Terrier Group by Judge Hans Van Den Berg
Magic was bred in Norway by Maria Huseby Opheim and is owned by Tracy and Kath Irving
A marvellous achievement at only 7 months old
Monamour Over the Rainbow, bred by Kao Miichi (Japan), owned by Mr Tony Barker and handled by Deb Ryan won the Terrier Puppy Group and went on to win Best Puppy in Show at the City of Birmingham Championship show on September 3rd 2016, both under Judge Mr Ernie Paterson
'Garry' had earlier been awarded Best of Breed and Best Puppy in Breed by Mr Paul Wilkinson
Monamour JP Moonsong owner handled by Tracy Irving, bred by Kao Miichi (Japan) and pictured by co-owner Lisa Croft-Elliott
The first Jack Russell Terrier to win a Terrier Group in the UK at Bolton Canine Society Open Show on August 13th 2016 under Judge Paul Eardley, after being awarded Best of Breed by Judge Paul Brandwood
This win was repeated the following day when Judge Paul Richardson awarded Moonie Best of Breed and Terrier Group One at Preston Open Show; two groups in two days!

RECOGNITION OF BREED - JACK RUSSELL TERRIER
The General Committee has approved the recognition of the Jack Russell Terrier with effect from 1st January 2016.
The breed will be added to the Terrier Group. An Interim Breed Standard is being finalised and this will be effective from 1st April 2016.
Therefore registered dogs of this breed will be eligible to be exhibited at KC licensed events from 1st April 2016
